HORSE CAMP!
Poplar Ridge is a family-run horseback riding stable that offers children's week-long day camps during the summer. The goal of our horse camps is to give young horse lovers confidence in the basics of horsemanship in a safe, fun environment. Our weeks are jam-packed with a wide range of activities that help our campers learn about all aspects of the horse world! Our camps are designed to be both educational and lots of fun! We have 8 horses in our barn including several that we've used for the past 10 years as part of camp. Our campers form great bonds with Rocky, Missy, Princess, Mater, Sarah and Tetley and tend to come back year-after-year to visit them! In addition, we have Sadie who gave birth to Derby, a beautiful little filly, on May 3rd of 2014!

Summer Day Camps
Week-long Summer Day Camps are offered during the spring and summer months. Ages 6-11. Maximum of 12 kids per week. Cost is $295 per week. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9AM to 2PM and consists of: - Working one-on-one with an instructor on the fundamentals of riding (according to the camper's individual skill and comfort level) - Horse Care Responsibilities such as learning how to feed, groom, & bathe - Barn & Grounds Maintenance - Arts & Crafts - Horse-Related Activities & Games (i.e. painting a horse, saddling a horse, cleaning tack, ground-work lessons, scavenger hunt, colors & breeds, etc.) - Swimming in Outdoor Heated Pool - Cookout for Kids on Friday - "Horse Show" for Parents to Attend on Last Day of Camp |
Mini One-Day Camps
Mini One-Day Camps are offered throughout the year. These generally fall on Saturdays or Sundays, but we also offer some camps on school breaks. Mini camps are from 10am-2pm and cost $75. Ages 6-11. Our Mini Camps consist of: -One-On-One Riding Instruction with Qualified Instructor -Horse Care Responsibilities such as learning how to feed, groom & bathe the horses, as well as mucking the stalls -Arts and Crafts Related to the Season -Horse-Related Activities & Games (i.e. painting a horse, scavenger hunt, colors & breeds, saddling a horse, cleaning tack, etc.) -Swimming in Outdoor Heated Pool (during warm months) |
